CAREER INFORMATION

A. L. Smith Trucking, Inc. works hard to develop a good working relationship with each of their drivers. This relationship will help both of us know what is expected from each other.

The operation of the business allows drivers to be home weekly. We also work hard in granting requested time off from the driver. As a company, we understand your life does not revolve solely around trucking. We understand “Life” happens when you are in the truck, and when it does we will work with you.

Driver Qualifications
-A minimum age of 21 years
-A minimum of 1 year of similar experience
-Possession of a valid class A CDL issued by the resident of the state of the driver
-No driver license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days as a direct result of operating a motor vehicle – Examples of items not included could be failure to appear, child support
-No major violations during the past 36 months. Some examples include DUI, refusal to test, leaving scene of accident, reckless driving, fleeing or eluding
-No more than 4 motor vehicle violations in the previous 36 months
-No record of more than 2 at-fault traffic accidents during the previous 36 months
-No record of one at fault accident with more than 3 moving violations
-Pass a DOT drug screen
-Pass and maintain a DOT physical
-Be able to perform all duties required for driving and delivering freight
-Must be safety and customer service oriented
